There’s no better assignment than being asked to come up with a fabulous name. Whether I’m inventing a new cosmetic collection, a buzzy summer cooler, an underwire bra or a lo-carb breakfast, the creative process stays pretty similar. First comes the client input; the more the better. Then, I close my eyes and reach out, as if I’m grabbing the winds of inspiration. Next, I burrow my mind into all sorts of creative tunnels. Along the way, there’s nibbling on snacks from Trader Joe’s. And, voila! Great names appear on my computer screen…and, pretty soon, on marketplace shelves.
