The award-winning design firm Carbone Smolan came to me with a unique challenge: create a sassy 8-page advertorial insert for British Tourism – in conjunction with British Airways –that would be a million kilometers away from ye olde tea and crumpets stereotypes. Research took me all over the UK…to museums, pubs, clubs and crusty characters that never make their way into Frommer’s. I named the piece “Oh, Really?,” the exact response we wanted every page to elicit.
